The Lobo Fan Gallery

continued.......

Hi Friends,

I am Kiran John (32 years) from Kottayam, Kerala, India.I came to know about Lobo in the 80’s when I heard his song Me and You And A Dog Named Boo sung by my friend Raju in an Youth Festival at our College. Inspired by that that song I started collecting Lobos songs. I have collected more than 100 of his songs within a span of 5 years. Then couldn’t get many. I enquired about this singer to many persons related to music, but they didn’t know much about him. But a few years later after computers and internet became popular I had the opportunity to learn more about him from this site and others. Lobo’s voice is so cheerful and clear and his lyrics are so romantic. The way he plays the guitar also is wonderful. Though I like many singers it is Lobo who I like most due to his cute love songs. I tried to popularise his songs in my town by singing them and giving Lobo’s cassettes as gifts to many of my friends. I also won a prize in our college Youth Festival for singing his song “Standing at the end of the line”. And due to that, that song and Lobo became so popular in our college during my graduation. Later I came to know that Lobo released an album specially for Indian fans called Bombay Moon (where as it was titled Asian Moon for Others). The song Bombay Moon also was so great. Now I am running a Music Shop called Music Zone in my home town. And due to my craze for Lobo songs I am promotting Lobo’s Cassettes and Cds to people who haven’t heard about him.

After visiting this site I found that I am yet to get many of his songs. But it’s a pity that all online sites only offer his Hit songs and not his rare songs. I really want to get songs like Yellow River, We’ll be one by two today, Everybody Get Together,… (Anybody please help me.) . Some of them I got from an old LP but the sound quality is very poor.

My ambition is to meet Lobo (that I know will happen only in my dreams) or at least to get an email from him.

Love, Kiran John

Hi, I'm Martha Irvin, a native Louisianan, born in Monroe on 9/30/1965 and currently residing in Lake Charles after stints in Baton Rouge and in Vicksburg, Mississippi. I'm single, but have a steady boyfriend of 5 years and a dog named...Bingo. (Had you there for a moment, didn't I?) My usual habitat is the prescription department of a major national drugstore chain - you know, the one with the commercials about some place called "Perfect." (They have the good taste to subscribe to L-band Muzak which plays Lobo songs.) I've been a pharmacist for them since 1995, and have been working in the health care industry for a total of 18 years.
I've been a music buff since age 10. I've always loved the song "I'd Love You to Want Me," but only recently purchased The Best of Lobo on Rhino Records. One listen to that CD hooked me and made me a certified fan. I love his ability to put into words and music thoughts a lot of other people could never adequately express. I can especially identify with "Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend," since it's tough to "remain friends" with someone in whom you've invested a lot of emotion and time.
Now I'm scurrying to come up to speed and round out my collection. My quest for Lobo knowledge led me to do a search on AltaVista, and voila, I found this very Web site. Great job, Sam!

My name is Diljeet Nair, firstly let me congratulate you for making such a beautiful and informative site, I am 24 years old and reside in Bangalore, India. I am a big fan of Lobo ever since I heard the song I'd Love you to want me which was used in the advertisement by a local car manufacturer. I feel every song of Lobo comes out straight from heart and his lovely voice gives a soothing effect. I would like to be part of your site and would suggest if you can make the albums of Lobo available on the net. Here in India the only album we get officially has only 12 songs. Once again thanks so much for taking effort in getting all Lobo fans together.

HI, My name is Larry Calhoun and most of my friends just call me "Cal".
I am 51 years old, have been married for 29 years. I have three children - one boy and two girls - and four grandchildren. I have lived in South Carolina for the last ten years, but I grew up in Indiana. I have been a machinist for the last 34 years. I have been listening to Lobo since the early 70's. He is my hero. He is the first singer that I can say I had to learn the words to all his songs. You could tell when he was talking about himself in the songs he was singing. At other times, I would swear he was singing about my life. I don't have all of his songs, but I wish I did. I admire his works, his voice, and the way he makes that guitar sing right along with him. Thank you Lobo for being you.... Sincerely, Cal
