Message: So glad to have found this web-site. I, like everyone else that has posted am a true Lobo fan. Got a chance to see him on a rare appearance he made in North Little Rock, Arkansas several years ago. I said I loved all his music and no favorite song but I guess Stoney would be one of my favorites since I have a daughter born in 1973 and I named her Stoney. I would love to have the opportunity to hear my all time favorite singer in person again. Wish he would make another trip to Arkansas.

Don't U know that U were our lives back then, U wrote those songs to us & for us, they were a part of us back then as much as they still are today! Those songs U say are (in your words) i.e. "you", well those songs are also us....even to this day.... so that makes us blood then I guess huh :=) ! I never saw U in person or even on tv & I really missed that part of it but your songs spoke to my soul each & every one of them ! Stoney was my all time favorite I believe but then so was Don't expect me to be your friend, How can I tell her about U, It sure took a long long time, stranding at the end of the line, Godbye is just....,All for the love....,Love me for...., Rock n Roll Days & would I still have U ! I think I got all my favorites in there, LoL ! I was reading where U responded to the B-Day wishes from yrs back & U said U cked this site early that morning of your B-day & if that is the case then U prob didnt see my B-Day wish to U cus I ususally post them late the night of your B-Day so I will be one of the last ones & maybe just maybe mine might be one that U read bein the last ones LoL ! I am the one that (my real name is Pat) has written U every yr on your B-Day for the past 5 yrs I think since I found this site anyways & told U my life story & how much U meant to me then & still do ! U sang to my soul back then & still do today.... I just can't understand why the united states didnt seem to accept U the way Japan has ! I've been enjoying the jukebox page and it's fun to hear all these songs that are "new" to me. I'm so glad your voice still has the same clarity and resonance it had back in the '70's. I like this alternate version of "Don't Expect Me To Be Your Friend."
Your intro to "I'd Love You To Want Me" reminded me of my first job in college. It was a PBX switchboard and one of the assistant store managers walked in to the telephone room on my first day. I was smitten; 6'4" with blond hair, blue eyes that twinkled so brightly, and a moustache. Mr. James Lowery. "I 'bout fell out my chair" for sure! Your Fifth Grade teacher must have been a wonder.
I really love the accepting sentiment of "A Little Different;" it reminds me that there are still folks that do the name "Christian" justice.
I listened to the 14 jukebox songs in order, and I couldn't have asked for a better finale than "Little Boy Blue" - that's my favorite Eugene Field poem.

Message: I played in a band in Fargo, North Dakota when you did a show at the Civil Memorial Auditorium right at the peak of your song "You And Me and a Dog Named Boo. You used our sound system as you weren't traveling with one then. So me and the rest of my band got in free and were standing on stage off the side watching the whole show. When my band split up we divided the sound system up also. In my garage I still have a speaker bottom with a 15" JBL and horn in it that still refer to as my Lobo bottom. Now do you remember what a old irratated janitor did during you final encore of You and me and a dog named boo with all these kids screaming for you, because he was upset that your show was running late? It was only time I can say I was embarassed to be from Fargo.

Message: Hey Man, I've been listening to your work for a LONG time - to put that comment in perspective I started listening to you as a teen and I'm now pegging 52. And honestly - I never grow tired of your tunes.
Early on, you were the inspiration for me wanting to learn to play acoustic guitar - when everyone else back in the day only wanted to shred an electric. Would have loved to have been good enough to be in your band!
As I got older, but not much better at playing guitar, reality set in and I had to take time off my guitar lessons to work and raise a family.
Years passed without me ever taking time to pick up a guitar. But not a month went by without either playing a Lobo vinyl, 8-track, cassette, CD or MP3, or at least playing one in my head.
But I got a nice Takamine for Father's Day 2009 and now I'm working my way back to strumming along with my cherished Lobo collection.
I just wish I could find more tabs online. Of course, I would be happy to purchase sheet music if I could find it.
Got any ideas on where's the place to get your authentic material so I can maybe accompany you (on my IPOD) a bit more professionally (accurately) going forward?
I heard you were enjoying some leisure time in one of my FAVORITE places, the North Carolina mountains - I grew up there (my teen years anyway).

Message: Hi Kent, Sorry to hear about the health issues. Saddened to hear about Phil's passing last year. He was such a talented guy John Abbott and I worked with him on 'Introducing Lobo' and 'A Simple Man' back in the day.
I had also worked with Phil on the Royal Guardsman albums as well as Dion's Abraham, Martin and John album.
I appreciated your kind words in the newspaper story about Phil.
